British pop goth singer Patrick Wolf is having a fun time touring California. Last night (June 9) at around 3:30 a.m. Patrick tweeted this outside Slim's nightclub in San Fran's SoMa district:
3:34am: Was arrested by san fran police for spitting in a bouncers face in protection of myself. Was almost shot in the face by a policeman. WTF?
3:37am: was told by the policeman "take your shitty ass music out of this city and if you ever step off that tour bus you will be ***** ******** "
3:57am: feeling very thelma and louise right now.. must sleep... not allowed off the bus or i will be shot by a policeman. this country is insane!!!
4:01am: btw. apparently my spit DEFINITELY contains "hiv, swine flu and hepatitis" that is why my spit is a deadly weapon according to police here!
At least one MySpace friend of Patrick's, who attended the show, doesn't think Wolf's flying saliva is a deadly weapon: "You should move to SF as mentioned at the show regardless of the arrest. Soon in the states they will want to swallow your spit!"
I think I'm gonna puke. (P.S. A call to SFPD couldn't turn up a report of the arrest.)
Hey everyone - couple of things to drop this morning:

2) Tonight (6/3) we will be shooting and rocking out at the Dirty Penny show at The Viper Room in Hollywood. We want all of you to stop by and say hi! For guest list RSVP, send me an email at theradreport[at]gmail.com.
San Diego's Street Scene just announced the line-up for the 2009 event. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the in-the-streets music festival. The festival will once again be held in East Village section of downtown, where it moved from the Gaslamp Quarter a few years ago because of it's massive popularity. Headlining this year is Black Eyed Peas, M.I.A., Thievery Corporation and Modest Mouse. Other highlights of this year's line-up include the Silversun Pickups, Jack White's last creation The Dead Weather and DJ masters MSTRKFT. A two day ticket with service charges will run you about $132.50. That's a pricey one.
In Mid-June (June 12-14) a bunch of legends in skateboarding (Hosoi, Cab, Burnquist) and bands like Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Pepper, and Rebelution will be storming into the Sonoma County Fairgrounds to perform at the Eco-Cup.
This is the first year I've ever heard of this festival but it looks pretty sick. Skate contests, and music festival?? Yes it is true. Gather additional knowledge HERE.
I don't know how we've never been turned on to this particular documentary film - as it's over one year old - but it's story of seven surfers who live across California seems really interesting. It's called One California Day, and the filmmakers describe it like this:
"One California Day is a visual journey through six distinct coastal regions, capturing the California surfing experience through the surfers who live it. Shot in brilliant super 16mm color film, the movie examines the variety of subtle differences that make California so unique."
California is such a large and deverse state, a film like this really has a lot of potential in terms of visuals and story. The Los Angeles surfing community seems worlds away from the San Diego surfing community, althrough they are seperated by only two hours on the 101. Then contrasting that to the NorCal regions of Santa Cruz and San Francisco and beyond. A filmmakers euphoria. Check out the trailer above.
Here are the top 10 most polluted beaches in California. Six are in Los Angeles County, one is on an island, and the other three are scattered. What's surprising is that Pismo fell at number three. That place seems pretty clean, right below the central coast of Big Sur.
What's not surprising is the Monterey Bay isn't anywhere on the list. Turning the bay into a 'sanctuary' two decades ago has froze time in terms of pollution growth. Native marine life swims around like they're the dinosaurs in Land Before Time who finally made it to the Great Valley. Los Angeles marine life, on the other hand, looks like the creatures living in Mr. Burns swamp. Maybe they don't have three eyes, but they are the fish equivalent of lifetime smokers. Slower, skinnier, and lighter shade of green than the rest of the fish.
Anyways, enough on that. Time to go play in the clean ocean.
Blink-182 threw a tour party with all their fellow tourmates at one of the greatest places to throw a party: a cantina. What else do you need but friends, tequilla, and chips & salsa for a way great time? Oh yeah a mariachi band. A mariachi band that plays Blink-182 songs.
Bands in attendence included Taking Back Sunday, Chester French, and Panic at the Disco, who will all be opening for Blink at various stops along the way. Also Weezer, Fall-Out Boy and Asher Roth. I hope I get the Weezer stop. If I get the Asher stop I will cry. I promise you that.
