When Iron Maiden's plane - the Ed Force One named after Maiden's mascot Eddie (cool name) - landed in Costa Rica for their show last week, they had hundreds of beer clutching fans waiting for them around the runway. At least my ears think there's hundreds.
Oh yeah, and Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickenson is the pilot of Ed Force One, a 757 that carries 60 members of their road crew and all of their stuff.
Kings of Leon were the big winners at the 2009 Brit Awards. They won both awards they were nominated for: Best International Album and Best International Band. The video above is them performing Use Somebody at the ceremony. Other notable moments form the awards show include:
1. Coldplay was nominated for FOUR Brits and won ZERO. (Americans gave them three Grammys though.)
2. Katy PerryPUKED right after she won the Best International Female award.
3. DuffywonTHREE awards including British Female, Breakthrough Act and British Album.
And:
4. Iron Maiden took home a Gong for British Live Act. This award is voted on by the people not the commission. Maiden beat Coldplay, The Verve, Elbow, and Scouting For Girls. Cheers to metal!
