A Paul McCartney - MGMT Collaboration Only A Phone Call Away

A Paul McCartney - MGMT Collaboration Only A Phone Call Away

"It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play. They've been goin' in out of style, but they're guaranteed to raise a smile. So let me introduce to you, a band you've known for all these years - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band!"

With those words Paul McCartney and his fellow Beatles released the groundbreaking experimental album that set musical history. Today Sir Paul says he is desires a collaboration with the undeniable current leaders in psychedelic musical hits - MGMT.

Macca says he's just waiting for the call from the guys:

"I like MGMT. I'd like to work on some more dancey stuff with MGMT. But it has to happen organically."

"We need to talk about it. I can't call them. If they called me, I'd say, 'How did you get my number?'. But I'd do it."

Not many 26-year-olds out there with a Beatle saying 'call me.'

Mate, How About A Listen Of A New Beatles Song?

It's only kind of a new Beatles song, but a take of Revolution has leaked onto the internet. It's ten minutes long and it's called 'Revolution 1'. Supposedly John Lennon is lying on the ground on his back while singing this song, so his voice sounds different. It's rumored that only two versions of this were made. One went with John and the other stayed in the studio. WHo knows which one you are hearing, but here's your shot. Right --> here.

Abbey Road: 40 Years Later

Abbey Road was recorded by the Beatles as their way to 'go out on a good note.' The band had basically broken up but decided to hit the studio to record one last album 'the way they used to.' John, Paul, George and Ringo put aside their differences and recorded 17 songs. The album went went straight to number one where it spent 17 weeks.

This year is the 40th year anniversary of that album. And 40 years later, here's a day in the life of that little crosswalk on Abbey Road.
