Empire Of The Sun brought out their marlin ladies and moon rocks to their first ever live performance over the weekend.
According to the EOTS blog the stage show consisted of "one ton of costumes, a feature film’s worth of visuals, 1.21 jigawatts of lighting, Dancing swordfish, Part-Pantomime / Part-musical, Evangelical narration, Four pink guitars."
This is amazing. The only previous thing known to produce 1.21 jiggawatts of power before their show is a Flux Capacitor. The original flux capacitor of course was hooked to the DeLorean time machine. Want one of those.
What do you do when one person of your two-man band 'disapears'? For five months with no sign of ever returning? That is the question Emperor Steele from Empire Of The Sun is asking himself after Lord Littlemore has gone missing for nearly half a year.
Steele says"He disappeared about five months ago and I haven't really heard from him. Last I heard he's in Canada and then he's in Vegas. As my dad always says, you've got to keep the show on the road."
The lord has gone missing just as the band is planning the debut live show.
Is the Empire Of The Sun video 'Without You' a love story between Emperor Steele and Lord Littlemore? Is it just a coincidence the song is called Without You and Littlemore is missing? I know the rumors are Littlemore left the group, but I sort of believe this is just a chapter in the tale. Anyways, enjoy the video. (I'm still stuck on their game!)
Australian electro guys Empire of the Sun have their very own iPhone application. It's an adventure game. An adventure game with 'secret music.' After spending the $0.99 at the app store you will embark on a "journey like no other which will uncover secret tunes locked away since time immemorial."
"Travel across the silk road, concrete follies, to uncover the full wrath of Neptune's fury."
"Defy the destined path to embrace Emperor Steele and Lord Littlemore on a journey to find the being within."
"A new spirit of hope is sweeping across the digital divide."
It looks really cool from the promo video. I have to warn you though. Many app gamers are bitching. Just some of the comments read as follows:
- "I can't figure out what to do in the game how do you play it!"
- "I played that but i got stuck already on the first level =.="
- "Well what the hell is it?"
I just bought it, and after this six-pack and some research, I'll give you my review.
A couple days ago we told you about how the Earth was going to plunge into blackness during the longest solar eclipse of the 21st Century, and Empire of the Sun will be releasing a six-minute performance to coincide with the event.
Well turns out the eclipse happened and unless you were located in China, Japan, or surrounding area, you didn't notice. Details. So while the eclipse has come and gone, captured only in the memories of the geographically gifted, Empire's performance has been logged to video for you to experience as many times as you like. Complete with damn sick marlin-faced ladies, I will say this performance is just as uncommon as the sun and moon aligning in perfect order. Check it out here.
As soon as that countdown pictured above hits zero something amazing will happen. Yeah the Earth will go black and people will freak out, but also Empire of the Sun will transmit a never-before-seen-or-heard broadcast of galatic proportions. Pretty sure the Earth will stand still. To see what this mental euphoria is all about you are going to have to head right over here.
Empire Of The Sun is out with a new video for Standing on the Shore, complete with marlin faced ladies, exotic deserted locations, and dancing in magical caves. One of the more original videos I've seen in a while, I will say.
Empire singer Luke Steele just canceled a bunch of promotional events because of exhaustion. He was quoted as saying "I arrived back in Australia and couldn't find the energy to do anything. I couldn't move and I hardly ate."
"The doctor said I was exhausted physically and mentally. I'm now on a high-protein diet and taking shakes to build up my strength. I also go on 2km walks every morning with my wife, my daughter and my dog."
Aussie electro alternative pop duo Empire of the Sun are dead serious. They're new album, Walking On A Dream, comes out at the end of April and I'm going to be first in line. I love this kind of sheet. The guys just recently sat down with DazedDigital for a quick interview.
Here's Empire Of The Sun and their new video for 'We Are The People.' I like the song but the video kinda creeps me out. Not that I wouldn't do that in the desert to. It looks kinda fun. Actually, really fun. Makes me want to go to the jungle also. They're seriously lacking chicks though. How much more fun is dancing in the jungle with make up on and weird clothes when you have chicks?? It's a little lonely otherwise. So let's do this!!
