Iglu & Hartly just released their new video for DayGlo. Set in a translucent dreamland of stars and rainbows and glimmering lights, it's a day glo. Carefree and free as a bird. In the clouds.
We ran into I&H at one of their shows just after they shot the video. Singer Jarvis Anderson told us a little about the filming experience: "We were all jumping up and down on a mattress, and it was nuts, we were jumping for about eight hours straight." And oh yeah, "and I had all these hot chicks around me, and it was just fucking amazing."
Who wants to send a text right now! If you answered yes then here you go: Iglu & Hartly are up against four other bands in a competition to open the Virgin Freefest with Blink-182, Weezer, Jet, The Bravery and more. Take ten seconds and...

I had a dream the other night that there was this show broadcast from somewhere that only played punk rock, interviewed punk rock bands, went to punk rock shows, talked to punk rock fans, and it was great.
Then I woke up with a text on my phone that read 'hey Eddie Iglu & Hartly is going to be on The Punk Rock Show show tonight. Go watch it.'
So I'll be tuning in to thepunkrockshow.com tonight (7/16) to watch the Iglu & Hartly show and chat. Hope to see you there.
(Note: The above story is fictional, but based on a true story. i.e., the dream never happened, but the show will.)
Musicians of every genre are expressing how Michael Jackson has influenced their music and affected their lives. We've gathered the initial reactions of his death a handful of artists. Some exclusive, some from Twitter. Across the board everyone is so shocked:
Mark Hoppus - Blink-182: first album i ever bought was thriller. with birthday money. on cassette. for my brand new sony walkman. truth. rest in peace.
Jarvis - Iglu and Hartly:"Michael Jackson has been an inspiration to music lovers everywhere. He transformed pop music forever and has inspired Iglu and Hartly. This is sad news for everyone I know."
Jonny Prynce - Dirty Penny:"Fuck. This is like Elvis dying. I still watch the Dirty Diana video on YouTube like once a week. That shit is metal. He will be missed."
Producer/Musician Cisco Adler: "Wow Michael Jackson is dead! Very sad day... I'm in the studio... we are dedicating this song to the king of pop!"
Katy Perry: "Oh my God."
Lily Allen: "No fucking way"
DJ Steve Aoki: "This is bigger than any artist dying in our lifetime. Bigger than elvis and freddie mercury for me."
DJ Aaron Axelson:"extra MJ and Jackson 5 selections on the decks tonight"
Last Wednesday, after a full 10 ten hours at the beach, we hit up the Billabong Design for Humanity charity concert, fashion show, and art exhibit in Hollywood. It was a killer time for all. Venue was great, performances were a blast, fashion show spun minds, and the art was very impressive.
We followed Iglu & Hartly backstage after their set for some good laughs, salami throwing, and just general rock and roll all night. Earlier in the day I heard the guys just wrapped a video shoot for their current single DayGlo. Jarvis agreed to tell us a few details on camera. Sorry for the production quality. And the yelling. It was loud back there. What we did get is their new video is a stop motion film with some hotties and a lot of jumping. I like!
I edited a couple of my clips together check it out.
At last year's Billabong Design For Humanity event MGMT headlined and brought the house down. Iglu & Hartly will be opening this year, but the headliner won't be announced for a week. Here's a promo video featuring I&H and Billabong's new top model, Tori Praver.

Don't know Iglu & Hartly? They've been described like this:
"Tom Petty meets The Pointer Sisters in a neon karaoke bar in Tokyo singing Tina Turner. The music is a sonic milkshake, a genre blending, culture-defying laser show. Synths, raps, explosive hooks, colorful bridges, sailboats, inspiration."
Or just check out their music video for 'In This City' right HERE. Always a great time.
