A Special fathers day episode.

I’m Eddie DaRoza, and here’s your Daily Detour.
 
Father’s day is this weekend so I’d like to make today’s episode a very special father’s day edition to say thanks to our favorite dudes of the world. I’d like to wish my dad a happy father’s day. I found these old pictures of Ed DaRoza Senior skating the legendary skatepark soquel which he built and founded. Here he is pre-soquel at the Frederik Street run. Shred it dad.
 
So the one thing on everyone’s mind is what do I get dad. I’ve found a couple things.
 
Why not get dad the most useless beer holder on the face of the earth. It’s a giant socket that can hold his can. Functional? No. Cool looking? Yep.
 
Your dad like to surf? Email a picture of him to Surfer Magazine and have it published onto the site. Whose dad doesn’t want to be killin it on Surfer Mag.
 
One of the coolest skaters of the 1980s, Christian Hosoi is releasing his memoir. This one is on my reading list for sure. And I’m sure dad wants to relive some of those stories from the 70s and 80s golden era of skating.
 
I’m so thankful my dad taught me to play baseball. One of the true loves of my life. Return the favor by heading down to your local dugout store and grab a tee from his favorite team.
 
Which actually makes me think. You know what dad really wants? Go play catch with him. Buy him a fishing license and go murder some trout. It’s fathers day. Dads don’t want more crap. Have some fun.
