Rolling Stone Magazine has announced they will shrink the mag down to a regular magazine size, and not the oversized format they've had for so many decades. The last oversized issue is schduled to go on sale Oct. 17th. The huge mags were way cool, when they actually had way cool covers. Now they're covered with the filthy Jonas. Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner explains the change:
“All you’re getting from that large size is nostalgia.”
“The consumer we want to reach watches 'Lost' on a big TV screen, on a computer screen and on an iPhone. They’re agnostic on format."
“I myself was kind of torn about it."
“We’ve evolved. But the core tradition, the mission, remains the same."
Or, they just suck so bad now they have to save money so they can keep going. I'd rather pay five extra bucks for an imported NME then buy any Rolling Stone any time of the year. They blow!
