Rad Reports on Eddie Daroza
I wonder how many people have been in Har Mar Superstar's bed? If the legend is true I'm guessing a lot. We met up with the eccentric pop artist at the Phoenix Hotel the morning after his show in San Francisco; to talk about his latest album, his vodka sponsor, when he lost his virginity, and why he's in love with unicorns. Check it out.
V.V. Brown wrote a few songs on her debut album, Traveling Like The Light, about her break up with "one particular arsehole". It's hard to imagine anyone being an arsehole to the lively and lovely V.V., but it did happen and out of the ashes came her wonderful music.
We talked to V.V. about her songs, her nicknames, and causing a little trouble. Have a look.
In 1996 AFI rolled through Santa Cruz, California and played a $6 show for 100 people at the Vets hall. It was my first punk show and cost me six bucks. Fourteen years later I told Jade and Hunter that story as we sat in their bus five blocks down the road from the venue they played way back when. This time through Santa Cruz they have two platinum albums under their belt and another gold doesn't look far off.
We caught up with AFI in Santa Cruz, Calif., and talked to them about their new album (Crash Love), their new music video (Beautiful Thieves), Hunter's shoes and the duality of A Fire Inside. Check it out.
Last weekend we hit up the Dirt Nasty show - which was a blast - and then sat down with the West Coast rapper to talk about his new album and what he's up to at the moment. Dirt's new Album, Nasty As I Want To Be, will debut this March and features tracks with Mark Ronson, LMFAO, Too Short, and many more. D.N. says the new album is "uptempo party shit" like the song '1980' from his debut.
Check it out.
I have been to 1979 and made it out alive. A few nights ago we met up with avant-retro rockers Wolfmother at their show in Oakland, Calif. All I can say about the concert is when a particular guitar hero recently described their performance as just "like an avalanche on your head" he wasn't joking. My bell is still ringing.
We tagged along with bassist Ian Pares. Asked him a few questions about life. Check it out.
Last weekend we happened to catch up with alternative rock band The Almost at the Warfield in San Francisco, when they cruised into town on their tour with The Used. We hopped on the bus with 'em and talked about their new album (Monster Monster), their next music video (Hands), who cooks dinner on tour and what's up with a few other things in their lives. Check it out - always good times!
Just before Shwayze took off for their current tour we happened to nail 'em down for a phone call and discuss all the killer stuff they have going on right now. Their new album Let It Beat debuted in the iTunes top ten, their Party Rock Tour with LMFAO is one giant great party, and basically everything going on is just plain fun. Soundtracked. Have a listen.

Young and Reckless is the name of the new album by Dirty Penny, and it also should be known as the theme to their release party that was held a couple weeks ago in their hometown of Santa Cruz Calif.
We sat down with 'em for a chat on their new music, life on the road, and a session of 'remember that.'
Some highlights: drummer Spanky can't do backflips. Big chunks of metal can hurt tour vans, and I'm a horrible horrible interviewer. Watch all the action right here right here right here.

Posting to that Rad Report site will be light ('er then ususal) today as I am hard-pressed for time due to a very long drive around America. Two days ago I left California and have since hit up Nevada, Oregon and Idaho, where I am located now spending the next couple of days before a return to the Golden State. And as fate would have it, the Warped Tour is making it's annual stop in Boise today, where I happen to be writing this right now. Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord.
As I was saying, I'm very busy doing things. (But always have time for new friends if you're in Boise hit me up on Twit @theradreport.)
