LISTEN: New Metric – ‘Youth Without Youth’ Emily Haines & Co Is Back
It’s been quite sometime, but the DIY Canadians in Metric are out with a new song. ‘Youth Without Youth‘ is the first single off Metric’s new album Synthetica. According to songwriters Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw, Youth Without Youth is about anger, resentment, discontentment, and being pissed off. “The decay of the social state, through the eyes of a deprived youth,” says Emily. LISTEN: The Gaslight Anthem New Song – ’45′ First Single Off Handwritten
It’s been a few years since we’ve heard anything new from The Gaslight Anthem, but for all you who have been waiting, well I am happy to say “the wait is over.” Brian Fallon and the guys have released ’45,’ a folk punk style story that we’re so used to hearing from Gaslight. A new song by the deceased Joey Ramone has debuted. The song is called Rock n Roll is the Answer and was recorded by Joey just before he died 11 years ago. It was produced by Joey’s brother Mickey. Of the new music Mickey said “”It was of the utmost importance to me that these remaining songs of Joey’s be finished properly, and made available for the world to hear.”
A Joey Ramone solo album called ‘…ya know‘ has a scheduled release date of May 22nd of this year. Rock n Roll is the Answer can be heard here.
