Popular MP3 File Sharing Site Megaupload Seized By Government Anonymous Then Takes Down The FBI Site With DDoS Attack

The popular file sharing site Megaupload was removed from the internet by the United States Government yesterday. Megaupload was used by 50 million people daily to transfer files of all sorts, including MP3s, movies, and television shows, and that made the creators of some media unhappy at times. The owner of the website was also arrested in New Zealand. He is a guy named Kim Dotcom, (legally changed) and he made at least $47 million dollars last year running Megaupload. The government confiscated art, cars, guns, and cash worth around $8 million when they made the arrests.

Since the takedown the internet hacktivist group Anonymous has relatiated by taking down the websites of the FBI, Department of Justice, Motion Picture Association, Recording Industry Association, and others.

Some people believe the feds taking down Megaupload one day after the internet blackout protesting SOPA is more then just a coincedence. Some people believe the Government did it to make a point about illegal file sharing on the internet.
